On Monday, May 5, the Padre Salmerón Library in Cieza presented the new issue of the Fray Pasqual Salmerón Center for Historical Studies magazine with a large audience, featuring nine articles on research, news, and the association's travels.

It was introduced by its director, Manuela Caballero González, who handed over to the artist, Antonio Buitrago Puche, author of the cover, who spoke about the work he has created for the current issue, corresponding to the year 2024.

Manuela Caballero then outlined each of the articles that make up the magazine, covering topics ranging from the Giménez family's Hilaturas del Segura industry, the War of Independence, the millet harvest in Almadenes, the Roldán house, the captivity of the Ciezans in Granada, the Calasparra flour mill, and the regulations for holding the 1883 sessions of the Cieza City Council.

Finally, the director introduced historian Gerardo Lang-Valchs, who discussed his article on the movement of German U-boats in the Mediterranean during the World Wars and the possible support he found in Spain. The session concluded with remarks from the audience and a family photo of the authors and Councilor for Culture María Turpín.
