El Cajal originated on the "La Solana" estate, located on the slopes of the Sierra de Ricote and El Cajal mountain range, which gives rise to the Ricote Valley, one of the most attractive areas along the Segura River. The slopes where the company's original estate is located enjoy a unique microclimate due to receiving higher levels of solar radiation than the average for the Region of Murcia and among the highest in Spain. The sunny, sunny orientation is the warmest and most luminous, ideal for cultivating typical Mediterranean crops, species with high light requirements that can withstand the drier conditions of the soil, such as apricot and peach trees. This is further enhanced by the southwest orientation, which in the Mediterranean regions of the Northern Hemisphere is the warmest and sunniest.
The dry slopes of the Sierra del Cajal result in orchards with warm, dry, light, and deep soils. All these characteristics create a unique and exceptional natural environment for the production of stone fruit, especially apricots of exceptional quality, with fragrant fruit and an extraordinary flavor, particularly when harvested exceptionally early.
Frutas ElCajal and its parent company Basol Fruit always look for locations that meet similar characteristics to those described above to put their experience in the production of early stone fruit into practice.
