The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, as part of the "Safe Commerce Plan," has conducted an investigation in Cieza to investigate the robbery of a mechanic's workshop. This investigation culminated in the arrest of an experienced criminal as the alleged perpetrator of the robbery, as well as the theft of a vintage moped, which also occurred in the municipality of Cieza.

The Civil Guard has recovered some of the tools and computer equipment stolen from the mechanic's workshop, which were located in a secondhand store.

The investigation began when the owner of a mechanical engineering business located in Cieza reported the theft of several tools and computer equipment to the Civil Guard.

A visual inspection of the workshop revealed that the theft had occurred after forcing the shutter and breaking the glass of the access door. Officers obtained traces and fingerprints, which were analyzed.

The Civil Guard investigated secondhand stores where they found some of the stolen items, which led to the identification of a suspect.

As this investigation progressed, also in Cieza, a historic, highly valuable moped was stolen. Investigators located the vehicle, which was being advertised for sale on social media.

It turns out that the person who sold the stolen items from the workshop and the person selling the moped were the same, a well-known criminal based in Cieza.

The investigation recently concluded with the arrest of a 45-year-old man, suspected of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
