Employment Councilor Manuel Martínez welcomed the students, management, and teaching staff of the new Experiential Program for unemployed individuals, called "Modernization of Employment Workshops, Adaptation, and Preservation of Urban Furniture."
The program began on May 15th and will last one year. It consists of three workshops associated with professional certifications: Carpentry and Furniture Finishing, Basic Operations for Light Coatings, and Techniques in Construction, Assembly, and Maintenance of Low-Voltage Electrical Installations.
The project involves 20 student workers hired by the City Council through a training and apprenticeship contract. This team is also joined by teaching and coordination staff.
To this end, the Cieza City Council has received a grant of €561,410.60 from the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), while the council is providing €85,458.30 to carry out various projects, including: refurbishment of the pillars and benches at the Fuente del Ojo, repair of the wooden benches on the Paseo José Antonio Camacho, repair of the bridges, railings and walkways on the Paseo Ribereño, improvement and modernisation of the training facilities of the Department of Employment and Economic Development, with new partition wall layouts in workshops, façade cladding, and renovation of the entire electrical installation in the workshops to comply with current regulations, among others.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive official professional accreditation, preparing them to perform these professions in the labor market. Furthermore, as this is a professional qualification from the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications, it is considered in any selection process organized by public administrations and provides professional accreditation for private companies.
