The mayor of Cieza, Tomás Antonio Rubio Carrillo, accompanied by María
Ángeles Ruiz Aniorte, Councilor for Modernization of the Administration, has
traveled today to Reus (Tarragona) to collect the award that certifies the
municipality as the new 'City of Science and Innovation'.
The event, held at FiraReus and chaired by the general secretary of
Innovation, Teresa Riesgo, has brought together representatives from the 22 localities
distinguished in this edition by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and
Universities (MICIU).
Cieza has been recognized for its strong commitment to local policies
innovative, thus joining the Innpulso Network, which already brings together 112
municipalities throughout Spain. This network promotes collaboration between
city councils and the promotion of R&D&I projects at the local level. The distinction
It represents an important institutional support for the work being carried out
the Department of European Projects and Strategic Objectives in areas such as
sustainability, digitalization and the promotion of talent, consolidating its
bets on a development model based on knowledge and
innovation.
With this recognition, Cieza reinforces its position as a benchmark in
innovation within the Region of Murcia, together with the municipality of Santomera,
also awarded in this call.
